Guys, do you think adding a bit of episode helps communicate better?

Last time I was talking with United Airline, I was arranging the time of arrival in Tokyo. I said — I want to arrive in Tokyo at 9AM and want to leave from Narita at 5PM (because it was the same as I originally planned on a different date).

When communicating this, I inserted a statement “I have an errand to stop by in Shibuya,” which I thought would help explain why I wanted a big chunk of time in between.

Because it was a personal information about my trip it was easy to say it.

Maybe adding things personal actually makes it easy to speak in a foreign language?
